ADS for Non-Profits

Our integrated approach to meeting your organization's needs includes:

Government Relations  •  Strategic Communications  •  Non-Profit Development

Government Relations

ADS offers federal lobbying services as well as state lobbying services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to a range of non-profit organizations. The ADS team enjoys bipartisan relationships throughout the federal government and a pristine reputation within the Commonwealth.

At ADS, we create and drive your political and legislative strategy; provide political consultation; monitor legislation as it pertains to your financial and programmatic interests; prepare testimony for hearings; provide introductions and messaging for interaction with key elected officials; manage Washington and/or Massachusetts State House visits; and engage your staff, board members, donors, partners and other stakeholders as appropriate.

We track our hands-on, highly individualized government relations efforts-be they at the federal or state level-with the ADS POLITICAL BACKBONE™.

Strategic Communications

ADS focuses on the audiences that impact your success in government relations and in development. Our customized communications strategies reinforce your organizational mission, board relations and development objectives, and are designed to strengthen your relationships with public champions for your work.

The ADS team takes the time to understand all aspects of your organization, increasing visibility with key audiences at every turn and ensuring that you are prepared to engage them in times of organizational change.

Non-Profit Development

ADS merges understanding of the public sector with expertise in the formation and growth of non-profit organizations. We understand the obligations and challenges that face non-profits today, and we come equipped to advise you in identifying new sources of revenue through creative partnerships, foundation and corporate relations, and board/new donor development. ADS provides keen insight into the numerous untapped resources present within your organization and network. We are prepared to engage prospective and existing supporters in our government relations and strategic communications strategies. In so doing, we strengthen your existing relationships, begin to build new ones, and form a synthesis among your various organizational functions.

Case Studies

ADS successfully lobbied the State House on behalf of the Commonwealth's leading voice for organized summer camps to reduce the Criminal History Systems Board fee by 50%, saving camps in Massachusetts hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

ADS was hired by the largest independent eye research institute in the nation to organize a team of consultants to devise a government relations strategy aimed at creating a public/private partnership for a military low vision research center. The program, designed to address severe eye injuries and ailments sustained in combat as well as vision rehabilitation for injured soldiers, is now a multi-million dollar operation. ADS continues to leverage the organization's board of directors and cutting edge research capabilities to actively engage members of Congress and ensure their continued support.

An institute devoted to the discovery and application of breakthroughs in oral health and disease prevention sought to provide free school-based oral health services to low-income children. ADS worked with the organization to gain entrée to Boston city schools and developed a legislative base of support for the program, touting its cost-efficiency and long-term health and economic impacts. These committed champions have already delivered the funding to serve more than 2,200 students in low-income schools throughout Boston and the Cape and Islands of Massachusetts.
